The 5th Annual “I Can Do Better” Charlie Fernandez Tribute Basketball Game

A tragic ending to a life has found some new light for the sake of others. Sam Jacques has excellently found a way to turn what has negatively effected his life into a positive phenomenon for the young adolescents and children of the Lower East Side Neighborhood. The Annual “I Can Do Better” Tribute Basketball Game for Charlie Fernandez has been a positive event families of the neighborhood can enjoy. Sam shared a bit of Charlie’s story during the game.


Charlie Fernandez (best friend’s with Sam) was gunned down after a night of upset and neighborhood beef. Emotionally he has yet to live it down. Since the tragic incident, Sam has ultimately decided to turn his pain into action and create an event towards sharing peace among the youth of the area. Sponsored by Hot 97, Alife, Adidas, & Sneak EZ, Sam has successfully done so and should be recognized for his excellence.
